CATE CASTONGUAY (Marin County office) is the Director of the firm's Political Reporting Unit. She supervises a manager, a national compliance coordinator, and a unit of seven Political Reports Specialists who are responsible for preparing complicated federal, California state and local, and other states' campaign and lobby disclosure reports and the bookkeeping, payrolls and taxes for large statewide ballot measure and PACs.

Ms. Castonguay joined Nielsen Merksamer after an extensive academic, corporate and political career, including Public Affairs, Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program, congressional staffer, and several federal and state election campaign staffs.

She received her BA from the University of California at Santa Barbara and her Masters at Boston College, both in Political Science.
