Hannah Yoo

Hannah Yoo is a research attorney in the firm’s Political Law Section.  Working in collaboration with the firm’s attorneys and Political Reporting Unit, she tracks and advises on legal developments related to campaign finance, lobby disclosure and government ethics law at the federal, state, and local levels.

Prior to joining Nielsen Merksamer, Ms. Yoo served as a legal and technical expert on state and local tax developments for the national office of a large accounting firm.  She also has extensive experience assisting Fortune 500 companies with a broad range of tax issues, including but not limited to, handling audits and controversies, obtaining favorable administrative rulings, and addressing transactional tax issues related to mergers or acquisitions.

While pursuing her law degree, Ms. Yoo served as the elected President of the Student Bar Association, President of the Amaker Inn Chapter of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity and Senior Editor for the International Law Review.

She has received the Lawyer of Color’s Hot List Award, served on the boards of an alumni association group, a local bar association and a national advocacy group, and lectured at legal conferences as well as her former law school.
