On November 10, 2016, Justice Arthur Scotland, of counsel at Nielsen Merksamer, received the Fourth Annual Founders’ Award from SacLEGAL, Sacramento’s LGBT bar association, comprised of attorneys, professionals and legislative advocates affiliated with the Sacramento County Bar Association.

Justice Scotland received the award in recognition of his contributions to the legal profession and support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. Justice Scotland served on the Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, from 1989 to 2010, and was Presiding Justice from 1998 to 2010.
