Essential Ethics: Nielsen Merksamer to Provide Political and Election Law Briefing

On Friday, October 20, 2017, Nielsen Merksamer will host another “Essential Ethics” briefing for government affairs representatives, general counsels, and political compliance officers in Sacramento. Essential Ethics is a complimentary briefing for the regulated community on the top political compliance issues to consider in advance of the coming election year.  The briefing will be an hour-and-a-half, with an opportunity for a private question-and-answer with firm attorneys afterward.

Topics will include potential new campaign finance disclosures under the pending AB 249 California DISCLOSE Act, expanded requirements and guidelines for lobby registration and disclosure by lobbyist employers promulgated by the Fair Political Practices Commission, prominent election law issues raised by recent litigation and legislation and enforcement trends on the federal, state and local level. In 2016, over 100 individuals attended the Sacramento briefing.  The firm also holds Essential Ethics workshops for clients in Washington D.C.
