On November 10, 2016, Jim Parrinello, the head of Nielsen Merksamer’s litigation section, received the San Francisco Apartment Association’s Presidents’ Award at the Association’s 10th Annual Trophy Awards dinner.

Mr. Parrinello was recognized for his many legal victories on behalf of the San Francisco rental housing community over the years, including in Cwynar v. City and County of San Francisco, 90 Cal. App. 4th 637 (2001), Larson v. City and County of San Francisco, 192 Cal. App. 4th 1263 (2011), and—most recently—San Francisco Apartment Assn., et al. v. City and County of San Francisco, 3 Cal. App. 5th 463 (2016). He was also recognized for his expertise on constitutional law and rent control issues and sage counsel to the rental housing community as it addresses legal and legislative issues affecting the rental housing market.
